The Life of Christ is taught at Ozark Christian College over four semesters, using a harmony of the four gospels. Individual gospel courses are also taught, but this four-semester harmony is at the heart of OCC's historic identity and mission.
With few exceptions, the harmony sections generated by A. T. Robertson late in the nineteenth century are used throughout these four courses. Many later harmonies, such as that done by Thomas and Gundry, largely build on Robertson's classic work. Using the harmony approach, my colleague and friend, Mark Moore, has produced an excellent study of the life of Christ: The Chronological Life of Christ. Anyone, layman or student, interested in deepening their understanding of the Jesus as presented in all four gospels would find this book extremely helpful.
The course is the second of the four semesters covering the life and ministry of Jesus. This particular course focuses on the Galilean period of Jesus' ministry, beginning with the healing of the Centurion's Servant and ending with Jesus' teaching on the Good Shepherd (Sections 55 through 101 in A. T. Robertson's harmony numbers).
Life of Christ students may want to access the course syllabus online, the abbreviated Life of Christ outline (that must be learned by memory), or the day to day schedule for class topics.
Students, and other interested, may want to view PDF version of the PowerPoint lectures used in teaching. |
